Coverage of the 24th annual WWE Summerslam event held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The top-billed encounters were the World Heavyweight Championship Match between Christian and Randy Orton and the Undisputed WWE Championship Match between John Cena and CM Punk, which also featured a guest appearance from Triple H as referee.

Moments after winning the WWE Championship from John Cena at Money in The Bank, CM Punk left the company.
